Mike Whitney is an Associate Professor of Marine Sciences at the University of Connecticut, Avery Point. He is an NSF CAREER award winner, with expertise in the physical oceanography of estuaries and continental shelves. During his time at sea, Whitney made measurements of weather aboard and constructed a web tool linking past weather conditions on the Morgan to logs from past voyages.
Eighty-five individuals from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds sailed aboard the ship and participated in an unprecedented public-history project, using their own perspectives and talents to document their experiences. Meet the Voyagers »
