Log: July 13, 1884

The CHARLES W. MORGAN was sailing on her 12th voyage east of New Zealand near the Chatham Islands under the command of Charles F. Keith. The log entry for the day states,”First part fine weather moderat breeze from the E ship stearing for Pitts Island at two PM Captain went on shore and returned at dark with Mrs. Keith and brought off four sacks of potatoes.  Middle part ship under easy sail laying off an on in Pitts passage.  Latter weather cloudy and hazy boat went on shore for Potatoes”
