“So in the end, I simplified things and created a video that hopefully captures–if nothing else–the spirit of our amazing 24 hours on the Morgan. It does attempt to share my own conflicting views about how strange it is to love two opposing things–to romanticize a vessel that once killed the whales I love–so in that way it does express views about the changing perceptions of whales and whaling, but through more of a personal lens than I had anticipated.”

Sahl is an English and ESL teacher in Westbrook, Connecticut. He spent several years as a videographer out of Provincetown, documenting whale watches and studying whale behavior and distribution.
