The CHARLES W. MORGAN was sailing east of Japan on her 23rd voyage under the command of Capt. Thomas Scullun. The log entry for the day: “Fog all Day  Boilling oil.  Begin with light air from all about  due the day Fog allmost the time Bk Steering North under all sail  due the time we boilling oil & store down  at night rain so end this day Works.”
