Log: June 6, 1902

The CHARLES W. MORGAN, on her 27th voyage under Captain Thomas Scullun was again whaling about 1,500 miles west of California one day after having a boat stove in by a whale. The log for the day reads, “Come in with fine weather Bk. lay to cutting whale at 2 p.m.we finish cutting so we clear away the head At 5 p.m. we begin the try work. At night breeze up some from N.W. we still lay under short sail so end this day work.”
