Log: June 29, 1845

CHARLES W. MORGAN was sailing in the North Atlantic less than a month into her 2nd voyage, setting course from New Bedford, MA for the Azores, off the coast of Northern Africa.  The log entry for this day states, “Commences with fine weather   steering E.S.E   at 1 PM kept her off E.N.E. wind  W.S.W.  busily employed in Coopering  oil   latter part  the wind hauled to the S W very light  two Ships in sight    so ends    Lat 38..00 Longitude by Lunar  34..60 Long by Chro 36?..20”
