Log: June 28, 1845

The CHARLES W. MORGAN was sailing in the North Atlantic less than a month into her 2nd voyage, setting course from New Bedford, MA for the Azores, off the coast of Northern Africa.  The log entry for this day states, “Commences with fine weather  wind W S W  steering  E.S.E.  at 6 PM the wind hauled to the W with beautiful weather   latter part the wind hauled to the S W  All hands employed in breaking out the after hold  so ends Lat 37..02 Long  36..15..45  Longitude by Lunar  36..11..30”
