Log: June 26, 1868.

The CHARLES W.MORGAN was sailing on her 8th voyage under Captain George Athearn in the South Pacific.  The log entry for this day states, “This 24 hours commences with squally & rainy weather at .9 A.M Capt & too Boats went a shor to Dommeneck after Hogs at .1 P.M came a board could not git any untill to Morrow brought off a white Man* from shore to go in the ship at sundown took in Main gallant sail heading off shore.”

 

*More than likely a deserter from an earlier visiting whaleship.
