Log: July 2, 1868

The CHARLES W. MORGAN was sailing on her 8^th voyage in the South Pacific nearing Tahiti.  The log entry for this day states, “First part fresh trades off & on at Magdalena at .1 P.M Cap Athearn came off with 2 More loads of cocanuts took them a board & headed off shore to the South under Dobble reefs got 2000 cocanuts Middle part the same Latter part fresh breeze at 2 oclock wore Ship to the Northerd at .7 A.M wore Ship to the Southerd so ends.”
