Log: July 17, 1847

The CHARLES W. MORGAN was sailing on her 2nd voyage making a stop in Fiji.  The log entry for this day states: “Commences with fine weather from the S.E. steering S W  saw blackfish  at 5 PM spoke the Pacific  at 7  PM spoke the South Carolina  middle part headed to the S. and W. latter part the same  had the wind quite light at 12 M passed the Lone? Island so ends”
