Log: July 16, 1842.

Charles W. Morgan was sailing on her maiden voyage in the South Pacific off the coast of South America.  The log entry for this day states, “Begins with strong breezes and squalls of Rain from the SE. Middle and Last part much the same…First part of this Evening spent in telling long yarns. Latter thinking about Home &c, the Glory of Being away from [there]”
