Log: June 7, 1886

The CHARLES W. MORGAN was less than 2 weeks away from returning home to New Bedford from her 12th voyage.  The log entry for this day states, “Today the wind has been about the same as yesterday. Ship Steering N.N.W.  At 3 P.M. it was discovered that the Fore top gallant mast is broken just above the cap , so had to take in the fore top gallant Sail & fly jib, I suppose for the Rest of passage”
